Phew! I started a new job recently, which came with a significant increase in hours, but things are starting to settle down. It has a steep learning curve which I've only just begun to tackle, but I have been learning quite a bit in a short time, which is a nice feeling of 'accomplishment.'

I also got vaccinated, and despite some stuff in the news about the particular version I received, it's been a load off my mind...

In the writing front, I actually sat down and drafted a story start to finish, which is exciting for me! (I used to be a pantser, but would inevitably get stuck and then fizzle out of energy.) The outline is a little fuzzy around the climax, and after some time thinking on it, I think it's because I need to scrap a major subplot. The rework I have in mind will be less action-y, but I think it will make more sense in terms of emotion/theme, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

I also beta read for a friend, which was fun but surprisingly exhausting! Luckily they were very understanding when I (sheepishly) told them it was taking me a bit longer than I thought. I'm usually confident in my SPAG, but I found myself scrutinizing style guides just to double-check I wasn't overlooking something.

This week I want to knock out some more drabbles and do a bit more outlining for some longer stuff. I feel like I've had some nice breakthroughs and it's been easier to get in the groove. Hoping it keeps up!
